Now, on to the other questions that I would like to lay to rest once and for all (Okay,that's a bit extreme. It is actually a question I love to answer.);

Why do I carry a gun? There are several reasons and they are affirmed every time I read about a home invasion, car jacking, mugging, robbery, rape or murder. They are also reinforced by the stories of men and women who survive an attack by a bad guy, save an innocent that has been targeted, helped secure the life and liberty of themselves, their family, their community. The second amendment to the constitution gives me the RIGHT to own a weapon. The concealed carry permit gives me permission to carry my weapon…you guessed it… concealed. There actually will be more on this later…

Am I paranoid? Yes, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t out to get me. A healthy dose of paranoia never hurt anyone, much.

Is someone out to get me? Isn’t there always?

Aren’t I worried my kids will get it and shoot themselves or someone else? Worried, no. Proactive – I hope so. We talk openly about GUNS (yes I said it – we talk about guns in my family). They are allowed to see the weapons anytime they want. We will stop what we are doing and show them, share with them the rules, and allow their curiosity to be satisfied. We will continue to do this as long and as often as it takes.

Am I worried a bad guy might just take it and use my own gun against me? Um, no. Just no. I’m not. I plan to fill him with so many holes he couldn’t possibly.
